Bitumen drum decanter(Bitumen melter)
The bitumen melter from our factory is a highly efficient, reliable
and productive decanting unit custom designed to deliver the best
in class productivity and reliable performance. This bitumen melter
are specially designed to reheat and melt bitumen packed in drums.
Designed for use in association with bulk storage tanks the melted
bitumen is automatically transferred from the decanter reservoir to
the storage tank during the decanting process. These units are
designed to seamlessly integrate to existing installations such as
an asphalt plant or bitumen binder production plants.
Bitumen logistic is sometimes an issue, especially in those areas
where an adequate supply of hot liquid product through conventional
road transport tanks is not ensured. Here most end users are
consequently supplied with solid bitumen in drums, but then they
have to melt bitumen back into liquid form prior to usage or
storage. For today’s requirements, we have developed the most
performing drum bitumen melter unit actually available in the

Drummed bitumen melter (with self heating) components
Bitumen melter(drum packing or bag packing) is mainly composed of
melting tank, electric gate, asphalt (drum or bag) loading trolley,
trolley drive system, thermal oil heating system, exhaust heating
system, asphalt pump and pipeline system, electrical control
system, etc.
Bitumen melter operation process
The trolley will be with uniformly distributed barrel holes, which
facilitates accurate position of each barrel when loading the
barrel(it could be taken apart when loading bag asphalt). The
trolley and the transmission system are responsible for pushing the
heavy drums in and pulling the empty drums out after melting.
With self double heating systems, easy to be transferred, heating
speed fast.

Saving energy: which use self double heating to melt and make
asphalt coming out of drums.
Taking asphalt out of drums thoroughly: the equipment use diesel
oil burner to heat up the wall of drums, asphalt near the wall of
drums can be rapidly melted, and then the whole asphalt in drum
will discharge thoroughly.
Having the function of automatically removing residue with a
residue filter.
Perfect applicability: it can be applicable to many types of drums.
It doesn’t influence operation even if the drum is out of shape.
Better dehydration: it uses asphalt pump with vast displacement to
realize inner-cycle and sub-atmospheric dehydration of asphalt.
